Partner Spotlight: Houston METRO

All aboard the Houston METRO! This special client of ours, located in beautiful eastern Texas, offers bus options, railway, commuter services and more to the Houston area through numerous services.  The METRO has been around since 1979 and has since molded into a multimodal transportation system from an original bus fleet. The METRO now services Bellaire, Bunker Hill Village, El Lago, Hedwig Village, Hilshire Village, Houston, Humble, Hunters Creek, Katy, Missouri City, Piney Point, Southside Point, Spring Valley, Taylor Lake Village and West University Place. You can experience the METRO’s bus, METRORail, METROLift, their Park and Rides, Transit Centers as well as Employer and Commuter Services.  To ride a Houston METRO bus, you can plan your trip via Google Transit or the METRO Trip App via a smartphone. Local bus and light-rail fares are currently $1.25 each way, and they offer discounts for students, seniors and veterans. You can grab a reloadable card, the METRO Q Fare Card, pay with cash, use a mobile ticketing app or pay through retailers and reload locations locally. The bus has several lines, including the Red, Purple and Green lines with various destination points. Transfer points are also available for added convenience.  As far as the METRORail, fares are also currently $1.25 through this convenient transportation option in downtown, midtown, the Museum District, Texas Medical Center, Moody Park and also the Northline Transit Center / HCC. The Red, Green and Purple lines are also available on the Rail as well. You can find local bus routes and railway schedules online for the most accurate options and times. While the METRO has come a long way, they’re constantly seeking to improve the experience through projects in the community. Today, they’re working on the Bus Shelter Program, METRONext Moving Forward Plan, METRORail Maintenance Facility, Northline Transit Center, Red Lanes and West Bellfort Park and Ride.
