Railquip stationary fresh water
tank re-filling and waste water
tank emptying system consists of modular racks,
flexible hoses and a central pump station,
The unique modular structure allows custom-fitting
as well as up or down-scaling without
significant expense. Railquip has selected
field-tested rotary pumps, proven in their
reliability and performance. Railquip stationaries
may even be installed in narrow places
between railway tracks.
CONCEPT: Modular
racks, installed alongside the railway tracks contain separate flexible pipe/hoses, one
each for waste water and for fresh water. The design and function is such that nither hose
can come into contact with the other. Following hook-up with the couplers the waste water
tanks of the coaches may be sequentially emptied followed by the re-filling of fresh water
tanks (or the reverse).
To further ensure that hygienic standards are met, a safety device
prevents simultaneous waste-tank emptying and fresh water tank refilling. Waste water can
either be directed into the sewage canal or into a collection tank. Under certain
configurations pump distances of up to 7 kilometers (4 miles) may be accommodated with a
single pump station. As an option, Railquip stationaries may also include heaters to
prevent freeze-up.
